The Rusty Shovel
The humblest important item in Grand Blue: a quest-gated tool that stands between you and your first Cursed Fruit.
How to get it
The Rusty Shovel is granted inside the Wizards Apprentice quest, given by Almighty Calvin behind the houses in Anchor Town. It appears as a ground pickup in the quest area — pick it up and confirm it is in your inventory before heading to the markers.
How to use it
With the shovel in your inventory, the quest's dig markers become interactive: walk to each marker and dig in sequence. If markers ignore you, the shovel is missing — re-read the quest log, then rejoin the server if the objective looks stuck. Full sequence in the walkthrough.
Why it matters
The treasure at the end of the dig pays a guaranteed Cursed Fruit — the only guaranteed one in the game. Every other fruit route runs through spawn RNG or chest odds, which makes a shovel and fifteen minutes the highest-EV errand in Anchor Town.
