Grand Blue leveling guide
Levels 1 to 100+ without wasted hours: one loop per island, bought in the right order, with the traps called out.
Leveling planner
Enter your level. Your next quest. No guesswork.
Levels 1–30: Anchor Town
Do three things and nothing else: run Calvin's Wizards Apprentice for your guaranteed fruit, pay the 25 G Marine gate and loop the Marine Captain quest, and push the Captive Swordsman story toward Morgan. Redeem the coin codes before you shop — the Cutlass plus a 250 G style should cost you nothing but a few clipboard clicks.
Levels 30–70: Clown Town
Johnny's clown officer quest is the whole plan: accept, clear, hand in, repeat. The Mayor's chain and Loki's Trickster errands slot into the same laps. By the late 60s you should have the Willow Blade, two styles, and a Buggy Clown appointment you are actually ready for.
Levels 70+: Maple Village
Alternate Paper Route and Kitchen Helper for steady EXP, keep Gus's quest as filler between them, and structure your sessions around the hourly world boss — it is the best coins in the game and coins are the real leveling currency from here (bundles, rerolls, ships).
Leveling mistakes that cost hours
- Skipping Calvin. A guaranteed fruit at level 1 beats any random drop you will see this week.
- Fighting with empty skill slots. Assign skills before grinding, not during a boss.
- Buying a ship before a weapon. Mobility does not kill Sea Beasts; loadout does.
- Rerolling early. Traits and races only matter once you understand your build — bank rerolls until Clown Town.
Leveling questions, answered
+What is the fastest way to level in Grand Blue?
Run one repeatable quest loop per island: the Marine Captain quest in Anchor Town (levels 1–30), Johnny’s clown officer quest in Clown Town (30–70), and Paper Route plus Kitchen Helper in Maple Village (70+). Redeem coin codes first so your weapon and style are funded early.
+How long does it take to reach level 70 in Grand Blue?
With the quest loops above and funded gear from codes, most players cover the 1–70 route in a few focused sessions. Skipping Calvin’s Wizards Apprentice quest or fighting with unassigned skills is what stretches it into days.
+Should I buy a ship before leveling to 70?
No. Weapons and fighting styles make every loop faster; a ship only makes travel faster. Buy a ship after your loadout is settled — Mary in Maple Village is the ship vendor.
