Wizards Apprentice walkthrough

The one-time quest that pays your first Cursed Fruit. Fifteen minutes of work at level one, a permanent power-up forever.

1. Find Almighty Calvin

Calvin does not stand on the main street. Head behind the houses in Anchor Town and look up: he waits on raised stone platforms. Climb up, talk to him, and accept Wizards Apprentice.

2. Pick up the Rusty Shovel

The quest sends you to collect a Rusty Shovel — it appears in the world as a small ground pickup near the quest area. Grab it and check your inventory; without the shovel the dig markers will not respond.

3. Follow the dig markers

With the shovel equipped, walk the marked digging spots in order. Each marker takes a moment to dig. Stay in the marked area — wandering too far mid-sequence can force you to restart the walk.

4. Return and open the treasure

Hand the quest back to Calvin to receive Calvin’s Treasure. Open it from your inventory: inside is your first Cursed Fruit, plus the dig site’s one-time reward. Equip the fruit from your inventory and assign its skills.

If the quest will not progress

  • Markers ignore you: the shovel is not in your inventory or not equipped. Re-open the quest log and re-read the current objective.
  • No treasure after hand-in: the reward is inventory, not auto-equip. Search your bags — one-time quest rewards do not announce themselves twice.
  • Stuck objective: rejoin the server. The quest state is server-side; a fresh instance usually re-anchors the markers.
